Raymond A. Poor, 61, a life-long Stoneham resident, died Friday, September 22, at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.
Born in Boston on November 25, 1949, he was the son of the late William and Roberta (Flemming) Poor.
Mr. Poor was raised in Charlestown and Stoneham and graduated from Stoneham High School. He was also a graduate of Bunker Hill Community College and Suffolk University. Mr. Poor had worked as a floor finisher. A Vietnam Army veteran, Mr. Poor had been a past Commander of the American Legion Hall and was a member of the VFW, the Irish - American Club and the Redman Club. He was also a member of St. Patrick Church in Stoneham. He had worked as a floor finisher.
Raymond was the brother of Karen Mahoney of Salem, NH, Maureen Skinner of Wilmington, Kevin Poor and his wife Patrice of Lynnfield, Rosemary Sullivan and her husband Dennis of Tewksbury, Brian Poor and his wife Wanda of North Reading, Ruth Boris and her husband Jeffrey of Stoneham, Kathy Walker and her husband Lee of Wakefield, and the late William Poor. He was the grandson of the late Mary Poor and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
