Regina Young

Regina A. Young, 97, of Stoneham died at her home on Sunday, October 27.

Born in Boston on December 24, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Louis and Olive M. (Carter) Mahoney.

Mrs. Young was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School, class of 1934. She had also attended the Massachusetts Memorial Hospital School for Nursing and had been a Registered Nurse for many years. Mrs. Young had also served in the U.S. Navy where she had attained the rank of Ensign and had been stationed at the Air Station in St. Thomas, USVI.

Mrs. Young was the mother of Regina "Jan" Belte of Stoneham. She was the grandmother of Mary Katherine Belte of Stoneham, Patricia Pasgrin and Gena Cannon both of Texas.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 73 Central St. Stoneham on Tuesday at 10am. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald – Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham.
