Richard B. “Dick” Carter
1928 - 2025

Richard B. “Dick” Carter, age 96, of Lynnfield, died January 14. Dick grew up in Winchester, MA and attended Winchester schools. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 and served aboard the USS Oakland CL95. After an honorable discharge, he attended Nichols College before joining Eastern Airlines in 1950. 

He married Carol Shaffer from Ohio in 1958. Before retirement in 1985, from Eastern, he worked on a military aircraft to and from Europe. 

Dick and Carol resided in Lynnfield and summered at Conomo Point, Essex for many years. During their retirement they spent the years travelling. 

Carol passed away in 2020. Both were members of the Centre Congregational Church of Lynnfield. The couple leave behind their beloved son, Ken and his wife Bethanne; as well as five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and very dear friends Randy and Pat Seville.

Funeral Services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
