Richard Cerulo, age 69 of Wakefield died Saturday October 13 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Born in Needham on April 24, 1943 the son of Marino & June (Seymour) Cerulo. Mr. Cerulo was raised in Wakefield and attended the Wakefield Public Schools. He was the part owner of the former Woodside Restaurant of Wilmington. He was later employed with the Town of Wakefield, Custodial Department from where he retired. He was an avid Boston sports fan and was a member of the West Side Social Club.
Mr. Cerulo was the husband of the late Mary V.(Amaral) Cerulo. He was the father of Richard Cerulo & wife Tina of Chelmsford, David Cerulo of Wakefield, Robert Cerulo & wife Peggy of Wakefield, Steven Cerulo of Medford, Peter Cerulo and Suzanne Cerulo and husband Mark Alexander all of Wakefield. He was the grandfather of Amanda Alexander, Joseph Cerulo, Tyler Moore, Jack and Joshua Cerulo. He was the brother of Peter Cerulo of Melrose, Raymond Cerulo of Waltham, George Cerulo of FL and the late Dorothy Landry and Barbara Jones.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Funeral services and interment will be private.
