Richard Collings

Richard I. Collings, 81 of Reading and a former Wilmington resident died November 23 at age 81. He was born in Medford on October 13, 1931. He was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. He was a retired Master Sgt. with the United States Air Force and served in both Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks.

Mr. Collings was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Elliott) Collings and was the father of the late Brian Collings. He was the brother of Lilliana and Marilyn and was also the brother of the late Walter, Melvin, Charles and Norman Collings. He is survived by his sister in-law Carol M. Moore of Reading as well as many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Thursday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Wednesday 4-8pm. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery.
