Richard C. Hamilton, 87 of Wakefield died August 26 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hamilton was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 21, 1930 and was the son of the late William and Anna (Carney) Hamilton. He was raised in Pittsburgh and later served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Hamilton was a retired accountant for Airco Industrial Gases and later from Northeast Industrial Supply. He had been a Wakefield resident since 1980 and was an accomplished organist who played for many churches over the years.
A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his beloved wife Rose E. (McGerity) Hamilton. He was the loving father of Ann E. DiDomenico and her husband Stephen of NH and the late Nancy Rautenberg and Barbara Hakioglu. He was the proud grandfather of David Hamilton, Amanda Mathews, Alyssa Mathews, Samantha Petersen, Michael Hakioglu and Allison Hakioglu and great grandfather to Kayla Cotty, Abigail Frinak, Nancy Lynn Reese, Peiyton Frinak, Kenzie Hart, Camron Cordis and the late Lucas Mikel. He was also the brother of William Hamilton, Jean Peters and the late Sr. Marie Arthur and Charles Hamilton.
His Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Thursday September 7 at 11:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home prior to the service beginning at 9am.
