Richard Murray , 76, of Wakefield formerly of Malden died on Friday, November 9 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Everett on March 25, 1936 he was the son of the late Daniel L. and Catherine (Ivory) Murray .

Mr. Murray was raised and educated in Malden. He was employed for over 25 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Treasures Office. Mr. Murray had been a Wakefield resident for the seven years.

He was the husband of the late Mary (Pike) Murray . Mr. Murray is survived by his 5 children; Richard Murray of Stoneham, William T. Murray and his wife Karen, Kevin J. Murray and his wife Joy and Elizabeth Woolbert all of Wakefield and Dennis R. Murray and his wife Michele of Salem, his sister Elizabeth Silvia of Malden, his brother Robert Murray of Malden, his 10 Grandchildren; Craig, Tyler, William, Kristin, Matthew, Ryan, Marissa, Alex, Devon, and Samantha, his great grandchild Ahaan, his daughter-in-law Jean Murray of Ogunquit, Maine, and his longtime friend Cassandra Muldez of Tijeras, New Mexico. Mr. Murray was predeceased by his brother Daniel Murray .

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
