Richard M. Nasella, 67, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died on Wednesday, February 15 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Melrose on October 26, 1955, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise (Fusco) Nasella.
Richard was a graduate of Northeast Vocational High School, Class of 1974 and had attended Fitchburg State College. He was a retired finished carpenter. Richard was a dedicated caretaker for his brother the late Joseph Nasella. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Richard enjoyed playing softball, karate, and guitar in his youth and loved woodworking. He ran a couple of cabinetmaking businesses in his youth and did a lot of work for high-end retail, banks, and restaurants in Boston and New York for other companies he had worked for over his career.
He is survived by his son Richard C. Nasella and his wife Heather of Lawrence, his daughter Julia Nasella of Manchester, New Hampshire, his three granddaughters: Christyllis, Samantha, and Brooke and his uncle Michael Nasella.
His Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, February 27 at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home prior to the service starting at 10am. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be to the National Kidney Foundation 209 W Central St, Natick, MA 01760.
