Robert Cann

Robert A. Cann, 72, a resident of Stoneham for 40 years, died on Wednesday, February 3 at his home.

Born in Lynn on July 6, 1937 he was the son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Ryder) Cann.

Mr. Cann was raised and educated in Lynn. He was a retired mechanic for Nabisco Co. in Cambridge. He also enjoyed fresh water fishing.

Mr. Cann was the husband of Ruth A. (Collins) Cann. He was the father of Thomas L. Hunt and his wife Lynne of AZ, Michael P. Hunt and his wife Patricia of Wakefield, Steven P. Hunt and his wife Laurie of Malden, Janet M. Dones and her late husband Dean of Stoneham, Robert A. Cann, Jr. and his wife Linda of Pepperell, Colleen R. Yalcin and her husband Yusuf of Wilmington and the late Paul M. Cann. He was the brother of Gloria Norris of Saugus and the late Phyllis Gerniglia and Ralph Cann. Mr. Cann is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
