Robert Connell

Robert J. Connell, 78, of Falmouth and formerly Wakefield died Tuesday January 18.

Born in Wakefield on September 15, 1932 he was the son of the late John & Marion (Logan) Connell.

Mr. Connell was raised in Wakefield and California and was a graduate of Santa Anna High School in CA and later graduated form Merrimack College. Mr. Connell was a retired accountant. He raised his family of 9 in Wakefield before making his home in Falmouth 25 years ago. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Connell was the husband of Rita M. (Mahoney). He was the father of Barbara E. Weldon & her husband Christopher of CT, Kathleen A. McDonald & husband William, Carolyn Scollard & husband Mark and Thomas P. Connell & wife Kathryn all of Lynnfield, Col. Joseph R. Connell, U.S.A. of Hanscom AFB, Bedford MA, Paul M. Connell and Amy Peterson & husband Thomas all of Falmouth, Susan M. Mosher & husband Ted of Dover and Charles D. Connell & wife Jennifer of Wakefield. Grandfather of Kristen, Brian & Lindsay Weldon, Daniel, Drew & Meg McDonald, Evan, Emily & Hannah Scollard, Ted & Robert Mosher, Abby, Caroline, Danielle & Tommy Peterson, Allie, Peter, Joseph, Natalie & Jake Connell. Brother of Eleanor Loughman of GA and John Connell of Wilmington.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Interment will be at the V.A. National Cemetery of MA in Bourne. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday 1-5pm.
