Robert Elkins

Robert D . Elkins , age 78 of Tewksbury died Saturday December 3 after a lengthy illness. Born in Newton on December 23, 1932 the son of the late Walter I. & Phyllis R. (LeBlanc) Elkins . He was raised in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School. He later attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Mr. Elkins was a retired sales representative for Bristol Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals where he had worked for 35 years. He had been a long time Wakefield resident and later of North Reading before making his home in Tewksbury 6 years ago. He was an active member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church and also of Phi Delta Chi. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Elkin is survived by his wife Peggy Ann (Riedeman) Elkins . His daughter Pamela J. McLean and her husband Brian of Groveland, his son Stephen R. Elkins and his wife Katherine of Franklin. He is pre deceased by his son Kenneth D . Elkins . He was the brother of Jean Mason of IL and the late Marjorie Kruszewski. He was the grandfather of Justin, Timothy, Zachary, Nicholas and Julia Elkins . He is also survived by his daughter in –law Cheryll (Ells) Elkins of FL.

His funeral service will be held in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church corner of Main & Bryant Sts. Wakefield Friday at 11:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Thursday 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
