Robert A. Driscoll, 66, of Wakefield died Wednesday, June 11, at Boston Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Malden on December 13, 1941 he was the son of Ethel (Hagen) Driscoll of Wakefield and the late Edward J. Driscoll.
Mr. Driscoll was a graduate of Malden Vocational School and worked as a machinist at TRW-Carr Fasteners in Cambridge for 40 years, before retiring in 2001.
In his spare time, Mr. Driscoll enjoyed traveling with his wife, woodworking and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Driscoll is survived by his wife Joan (Malonson) Driscoll, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, his four children, Karin White, and her husband Paul, of Wakefield; Kathleen Connell, and her husband James, of Stoneham; Robert Driscoll, and his wife Jennifer of Wilmington and Eric Driscoll, and his wife Julie of Stoneham; his eight grandchildren Jessica, Lauren and Steven White of Wakefield; Amy and J. T. Connell of Stoneham; Abigail and Matthew Driscoll of Wilmington; Sydney Driscoll of Stoneham and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Edward J. Driscoll, III of Glen, N.H., and his two sisters, Sandra Gadsby of Silver Bay, MN and Patricia Ward of Wakefield.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Monday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 PM. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
