Robert Lockwood

Robert E . Lockwood , 83, of Stoneham and formerly of Wakefield died on Friday, February 6 at the Winchester Hospital.

Born in Salem, MA on November 16, 1925 he was the son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Murphy) Lockwood .

Mr. Lockwood was raised in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School and Burdette College of Boston. He was a World War II and Korean veteran serving in the US Navy. He had retired from Mass Electric and was an active member of St. Florence Church in Wakefield.

Mr. Lockwood was the husband Jeannette V. (Paquette) Lockwood and the late Virginia (Cashman) Lockwood . He was the father of Ruthellyn L. Jacob and her husband Russell of Arlington and the stepfather of Maurice L. Monty of RI, William Monty, Leon Monty and Christopher Monty all of Wareham, Michelle Margeson of Dartmouth, Phillip Monty and Jacqueline Sylvia both of Forestdale, Michael Monty of Westport and the late Linette Monty. He was the brother of the late John Lockwood . He is also survived by his grandchildren Quinn and Ella Jacob and 21 step-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10:00 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.
