Robert Elkins

Robert D. Elkins, age 78 of Tewksbury died Saturday December 3 after a lengthy illness. Born in Newton on December 23, 1932 the son of the late Walter I. & Phyllis R. (LeBlanc) Elkins. He was raised in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School. He later attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. Mr. Elkins was a retired sales representative for Bristol Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals where he had worked for 35 years. He had been a long time Wakefield resident and later of North Reading before making his home in Tewksbury 6 years ago. He was an active member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church and also of Phi Delta Chi. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Elkin is survived by his wife Peggy Ann (Riedeman) Elkins. His daughter Pamela J. McLean and her husband Brian of Groveland, his son Stephen R. Elkins and his wife Katherine of Franklin. He is pre deceased by his son Kenneth D. Elkins. He was the brother of Jean Mason of IL and the late Marjorie Kruszewski. He was the grandfather of Justin, Timothy, Zachary, Nicholas and Julia Elkins. He is also survived by his daughter in –law Cheryll (Ells) Elkins of FL.

His funeral service will be held in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church corner of Main & Bryant Sts. Wakefield Friday at 11:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Thursday 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
