Robert L. Hathon, age 77, of Reading, formerly of Wakefield and Squantum died Saturday, April 15 at the Sawtell Family Hospice House in Reading surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Boston on August 6, 1939 he was the son of the late Edward C. and Frances K. (Lambert) Hathon.
Mr. Hathon was raised in Squantum and was a graduate of No. Quincy High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He had a passion for Antique cars and loved going to shows. His greatest enjoyment was family, he loved spending time with his family, especially on holidays. He was a very loving and generous uncle to his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of Edward C. Hathon, Jr. and his wife Mary of Beverly, Barbara A. Manser and her husband Brian of Merrimac, and the late Margaret Leonard and Roberta Hathon. He was the dear cousin of Linda Downing and her husband Bruce of Stoneham. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Service in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 11am. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 3-7.
