Robert E. Moores, 83, of Wakefield died on Friday, March 22 at the EPOCH of Melrose.

Born in Stoneham on April 4, 1929 he was the son of the late Charles A. and Olive M. (Gilson) Moores.

Mr. Moores was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School, Class of 1948 and had attended Northeastern University. He was a retired Electronic Buyer for several Electronic Companies in the area. Mr. Moores had been a Wakefield resident since 1958. He was a member of the Golden Rule AF&AM Masonic Lodge in Wakefield and had served as Chaplain at the Masonic Lodge in North Reading. Mr. Moores had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.

Mr. Moores was the husband of Beverly L. (Spousta) Moores. Father of Robert E. Moores, Jr. and his wife Deborah, Lorraine M. Moores, G. Douglas Moores and wife his Patricia and Cathy A. McCarthy and her late husband Alfred McCarthy, Jr. all of Wakefield. Brother of the late C. Andrew Moores and Roger K. Moores. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 7pm. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home prior to the service starting at 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Robert E. and Beverly L. Moores Fund c/o the Citizen's Scholarship Fund of Wakefield P.O. Box 321, Wakefield, MA 01880.
