Robert "Bob" Perry

Robert “Bob” Perry, age 80, of Stoneham, died Thursday, February 23 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Boston on December 14, 1942 he was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Butare) Perry.

Robert was warm, generous, and deeply devoted to his family.  He was always a little shy but had a sly sense of humor that made him endearing to everyone that met him.

A successful small business owner, Robert owned an auto repair shop in Boston for more than 30 years.  He was a caring boss who always put his employees first.  In lean years, he made personal sacrifices to see to their needs and well-being.

His selflessness and dependability were recurring themes in his life.  He shared whatever he had and gave whatever he could to the people he loved.  Gone but never forgotten, he will be remembered as an example of kindness by those he left behind.

He was the cherished brother of Ann Nolan and her husband Bill of Wilmington and the late John, Louis, Richard and Frank Perry. He was the beloved uncle to Chris Nolan and Brandon Beatty, Scott and Michele Nolan, Michael and Tiffany Nolan, Chip and Marcy Perry, Liane and Jim DeRonde, Danny and Jen Perry, David and Keira Perry. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends with whom he shared many happy memories.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Wednesday, March 1 from 9:30-11:30am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
