Robert “Bob” Reid of Lynn, MA passed away from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 74 years old. Son of the late Newcomb and Louise (West) Reid of Raynham, MA.

Bob was a graduate of Northeastern University and earned his master’s degree from Bridgewater State University. He served as a science teacher in the Taunton School system for several decades before he retired in 2006. He also had the honor of serving one term as the President of the Taunton Teacher’s Association.

As a 33rd degree Mason, Bob was a member of the former Ionic/King David Lodge serving twice as the Master of the Lodge. As a Scottish Rite member, he received their Meritorious Service Award in 1991.

An active member of the community, Bob heavily supported the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Camp Director for several years.

Confirmed at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton, he served on the Vestry and as a Eucharistic Minister.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sally K., their son Michael and his wife, Sally P., daughter Kirsten and her husband Domenico, and five grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Stephen and his wife Linda of Taunton and predeceased by his brother Gilbert. He is additionally survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield, MA 01880 on Friday, March 31st from 4-7 pm ET. Private burial to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
