Robert Schiazza

Robert P Schiazza, 91, a resident of Stoneham for 58 years, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the LifeCare Center of Stoneham.

Born in Lynn, MA on October 2, 1923 he was the son of the late Antonio and Mary (DiScipio) Schiazza.

Robert was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School and received his Bachelors and Master's Degrees from Boston University. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and later went on to work with the Air Force as a civilian at Hanscom Air Force Base where he worked as a Cost Analyst. During his career he was the recipient of numerous awards from the White House, the Secretary of Defense, and the Pentagon. Robert was a former member of the Finance Committee for the Town of Stoneham and he was a long time Patriots fan.

He was the beloved husband of Sally J. (Sigl) Schiazza. He was the loving father of Barbara Criblear and her husband Jeff of Clifton Springs, NY, Michael Schiazza and his spouse Douglas of Adams, and Eric Schiazza and his wife Kelly of Reading. He was the brother of Leda Barr and Dahlia Dunn both of Lynn and the late Ralph Schiazza. He was the grandfather of Angela Rogers and her husband Brett, and Wesley Criblear. He is also survived by his great granddaughter Josephine Rogers, and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 0'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
