Robert P. Sloane

Robert (Bob) Peter Sloane, 85, of Salisbury, MA, peacefully passed away on November 23, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 22, 1939, in Somerville, MA, a son of the late John and Mary (Lydon) Sloane. He was raised and educated in Somerville, MA, and received a Bachelor of Science from Boston State College. 

After being honorably discharged from the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division, he transitioned to a career in law enforcement and served 24 years on the Boston Police Department before retiring as a Sergeant in 1995. 

Bob loved the ocean and enjoyed daily walks on the beach with his beloved dog, Jenny.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia, and is survived by his children: Robin (Wayne) Sampson of Gilford, NH, Michael (Coleen) Sloane of Newburyport, MA, Karin Sloane (Ken) of Amherst, NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kelly (Sean) Adams and Thomas Sampson (Lucia), his great-grandchild: Erin Adams, and his brother: Paul (Rita) Sloane of Virginia. 

A private family memorial will be held in Wakefield, MA. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob can be made to Massachusetts General Hospital, Cardiac Care Unit, Boston, MA.
