Robert Surprise

Robert C. Surprise, 50, a Stoneham resident for the past 15 years, died on Tuesday, March 30 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

Born in Cambridge on July 8, 1959 he was the son of Eva (Holland) Surprise of Georgia and the late Richard Surprise.

Robert was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1977. He was a skilled carpenter and worked for Eagleston Roofing in Stoneham. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 115 in Stoneham. He also loved watching the Red Sox and Patriots with his friends and his can of Bud.

He was the father of Nicole Surprise- Freeman and stepfather of Paul Freeman both of East Boston. He was the husband of Carol DelRossi and her children, Tiffany Fitzgerald and husband Joseph of Methuen, Mindy Baker and husband Lester, and Richard DelRossi all of Stoneham. He was the brother of Richard, Jacquelyn, Susan and Kathleen Surprise. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Joey, Kayla, Christopher, Nicholas, Ty, and Toni.

A Funeral service will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday at 10:30am. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
