Ronald D. Barker, 63, of Saugus, died at his home on January 17 surrounded by his devoted family after a 22 month battle with cancer.
Mr. Barker was born in Dayton, Ohio. A truck driver and member of Teamsters Local 25, he worked for many years at John Cruz and WTC Freight and most recently was a driver for Genzyme Corp.A U.S. Marine Corp. veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Barker was a member of the Saugus VFW.
Mr. Barker was the husband of Dorothy (Andreotti) Barker. He was the father of David Barker of Saugus, Michael Barker of West Peabody and Danielle Barker of Danvers. He was the son of the late Helen Clark and son-in-law of the late Joseph and Dorothy Andreotti. Ronald was the nephew of the late William and Margaret Powers and is survived by their son Stephen Powers and his wife Judy of Chelsea. He was the brother-in-law of Richard Andreotti and his wife Mary of Saugus and Heather Martin of Winthrop and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St. in Chelsea at 10:30 AM. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 PM.
