Ronald J. Garvin, 80, of Wakefield died on Thursday, February 27 at the Winchester Hospital.
Born in Chelsea on May 23, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Margaret M. (Rohde) Garvin.
Mr. Garvin was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School. He had been a Wakefield resident since 1962. Mr. Garvin was the President of G&S Electric of Everett. He had served in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean War. Mr. Garvin was a member of the IBEW Local #103. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and an original season ticket holder.
Mr. Garvin is survived by his wife Linda M. (Sarabia) Garvin, his five children; Jean M. Farrell and her husband Tim of Wilmington, Ronald D. Garvin and his wife Deb of New Hampshire, Andrea M. Garvin of Middleton, Michael R. Garvin of Wakefield and John P. Garvin and his wife Erica of Tewksbury and his two brothers; Paul Garvin of Virginia, David Garvin of Maryland. He is also survived by his five grandchildren; Kellie, Matthew, Kendra, Brian and Julia. Mr. Garvin was predeceased by his brother John G. Garvin.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-5pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
