Ronald Krasiewski

Ronald E. Krasiewski, age 72, of Reading, formerly of Somerville, died Tuesday, February 6 at the LifeCare Center in Stoneham.

Born in Boston on June 30, 1945 he was the son of the late Edward J. and Julia (Melofski-Chmielowski) Krasiewski.

Ron was raised in Boston and attended St. Joseph's School in the West End of Boston and then went on to graduate of DonBosco High School, Class of 1963. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He had worked at General Electric in Lynn before going to BCD Metal Products in Malden where he had worked for more than 40 years and retired as a Quality Control Manager in 2015. Ron had been a longtime Somerville resident before making his home in Reading for the past nine years.

He was the brother of Lillian J. Salamone and her husband Vincent of Stoneham and Phyllis Freedman of Florida. He was the uncle of Julie Salamone and her partner Dean Abbruzzio, Kim Monteiro and her husband Jamie, Domenic Salamone, and Donna, Richard, and Andrew Freedman. He is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews.

Hi Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Saturday at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham prior to the Mass beginning at 8:30am. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
