Rose Dunphy

Rose M . Dunphy , 86, of Belmont formerly of Wakefield died on Monday, October 24 at her residence.

Born in Wakefield on November 26, 1924 she was the daughter of the late John and Carmella (Buonaiuto) DiTonno.

Mrs. Dunphy was a graduate of Wakefield High School. She had worked as a telephone operator in Wakefield.

Mrs. Dunphy was the wife of the late Richard F. Dunphy . She was the devoted mother of Judith R. Rizzo and her husband Frank of Belmont and James P. Dunphy and Brenda Willette of NH. She was the sister of Alfred DiTonno of Wakefield and Lena Tine of CA. She was the loving Nana of David Rizzo and his wife Anna, Dianna Wright and her husband Robert, Lisa Gilman and her husband Derek, Christine Kerble and her husband Joseph and Brian J. Dunphy . She was the cherished Nonni of Benjamin, Alexander, Alec, Julia, Andrea, Alyssa, Joshua, Sara, Elizabeth, Amy, Olivia, Mia, Ashley and Jake and the beloved godmother of Camille Reed of Holden. Mrs. Dunphy was predeceased by her three sisters; Mary Reed, Vienna Benedetto Page and Yolanda Amico and her two brothers; Rudolph DiTonno and Frank DiTonno.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
