Russell Fratus, Jr.

Russell J . Fratus , Jr . 75, of Wakefield died Saturday, January 8 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Malden on November 11, 1935 he was the son of the late Russell J ., Sr. and Beatrice (Bent) Fratus .

Mr. Fratus was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1954. He had been a Wakefield resident for the past 45 years. Mr. Fratus had retired in 1998 from Hewlett Packard in Andover as an assembler. He was a Korean War Air Force Veteran. Mr. Fratus was a member of the Golden Rule Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Wakefield and the Saugus Elks Lodge #642.

Mr. Fratus is survived by his wife Ruth (Goodwin) Fratus , his son Brian J . Fratus and his wife Carolyn of Ashburn, VA., his brothers; Richard Fratus of Malden, Thomas Fratus and David Fratus both of CA, his sister Janet Phipps of NB, his two granddaughters; Nicole and Shannon Fratus and his brother-n-law Richard Goodwin and his wife Joan of Wakefield.

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
