Ruth M. Cataldo, 81, of Danvers formerly of Wakefield died on Wednesday, June 4, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Lowell on September 9, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Eugenia (Murray) Irvin.
Ruth was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy for Girls in Tyngsboro and had attended Lowell Technical School. She had been a Wakefield resident for 45 years and was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield. Ruth enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was a retired office manager at St. John's Evangelist Church in Cambridge.
Ruth is survived by her husband Frank Cataldo, her two daughters; Mary Taggart and her husband James of Wakefield, Jane Sexton and her husband Dennis of West Peabody, her son John Cataldo and his wife Jennifer of West Lake Village, Colorado, her 6 grandchildren; Lindsey, Jennifer, Ryan, Matthew, John and Christina and her 2 great grandchildren; Genevieve and Madeline. She was predeceased by her brother William Irvin.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden
