Ruth Stackhouse

Ruth F. Stackhouse, 84, of Wakefield died Sunday, July 27 in Melrose. She was born on March 30, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Francis P. and Mildred C. (Doherty) Donahue.

Mrs. Stackhouse was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Girls High School of Boston in 1947. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1953 and was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a retired secretary with the Donovan Associates Insurance Agency of Wakefield. She enjoyed bowling and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Stackhouse was the beloved wife of Arthur D. Stackhouse. She was the loving mother David Stackhouse and wife Susan of VA, Claire Stackhouse and husband Dr. James Banks of MD, Ruth Kelloway and husband George of NH, Nancy Stackhouse of No. Andover, James Stackhouse and wife Sharon of NH, Mark Stackhouse and wife Linda, Kathleen Murphy and husband Jerome and Amy Jellison and husband Eric all of Wakefield. She was the sister of Virginia Hayward of Dedham and the late Claire Moore. She is also survived her 20 loving grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
