We regret to announce the sudden passing of Sandra "Sandi" Johnson on Saturday August 13, 2022 while at her home in Wells, ME.
Sandra was born on November 7, 1945 in Revere, MA to Ralph and Shirley Eager. In 1967 she married William H. Dam of Malden, MA. Several years after Williams tragic passing in 1973, she met her current husband of over 40 years, Norman O. Johnson of Randolph, MA.
Sandi was an extremely passionate musician and artist and would eventually turn her artistic abilities into a business, The Country Peddlar in Wells, ME, where she ran a country primitives shop from that old Georgian style farmhouse and barn in Maine for over 2 decades. What started as custom hand painted items quickly grew into a beautiful shop that she cherished not only for the items she offered but for the friendships she made with every one of her customers. Many trips back and forth to Pennsylvania's Amish country would provide many more friendships with numerous like minded people. No matter if it were vacationers or day trippers, they all would say they had to come to the shop to see Sandi and Norman before they left town. While the women shopped their husbands would sit outside and talk with Norman.
Maine became her second home and she cherished her memories of running her shop with Norman by her side, the joy she had when she finally got the barn converted into part of the shop, running a bed and breakfast and the long friendships that came from her guests that would return year after year, having lobster bakes outside with anyone who was willing to share a lobster or two, hosting morning coffee and muffins or playing dominoes with their friends at the kitchen table. The door was never closed and all were welcome.
She adored her three grandchildren Kaiden, Colbie and Teaghan and was extremely proud of the successes they had academically, athletically, artistically and musically. They were her greatest treasures. She was a confidant to them and a guiding force.
Sandra is predeceased by her first husband William H. Dam. She is survived by her husband Norman O. Johnson of Randolph, MA, her son Timothy and his wife Tonya, their children and her grandchildren Kaiden, Colbie and Teaghan, her daughter Melissa, her sister Diane and her husband Charles Jones and their daughter Amy, sister Linda Doherty and her children Andrew and Jennifer, sister Deborah Heimbecker and her husband Richard and their children Richard and Amanda, sister Karen and her husband Bill Silver and their children Billy, Jodi and Michael, and her brother Ralph and his wife Cathy and their children Sean, Jamie and Christopher as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Sandi will be remembered for her kind soul, her strength and wisdom, her generosity and her undying love for her family, especially her three grandchildren.
