Sarah E. Welsh, age 81, of Lynnfield died Sunday, November 18 at the Hunt Nursing and Rehab Center in Danvers.
Born in Melrose on January 10, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Ruth E. (Ober) Wiley.
Mrs. Welsh was a lifelong Lynnfield resident and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Huntingdon College. She was a retired librarian for the City of Boston and also worked at the Lynnfield Library. Mrs. Welsh was also a member of the Lynnfield Conservation Committee, the Lynnfield Community Church, and had taught at the Bethlehem nursery school.
She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth S. Welsh, M.D. She was the loving mother of Susan E. Welsh of Wakefield, Jay A. Welsh and his wife Maria of Lynnfield, and Caroline W. Oliveira and her husband Carlos of Lynnfield. She was the sister of the late Edward H. Wiley. She was the aunt of Shannon I Wiley of North Carolina. She is also survived by her two grandchildren: Maxwell of Lynnfield and Jackson and his wife Cristal; as well as great granddaughter, Hailey, all of Salem.
Her Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday, December 1 at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lynnfield Public Library Foundation, 18 Summer St., Lynnfield, MA 01940.
