Sheila McMahon

Sheila Ann McMahon, 74, of Wilmington, died on Tuesday, March 26 at her home.

Born in Woburn on June 7, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Viola E. (Charron) McMahon.

Sheila was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Nazareth Academy in Wakefield and Nazareth College in Kentucky. She had earned her two master's degrees from Nazareth College and Boston College. She was a retired professor from the University of Delaware and a former nun with the Charities of Nazareth for 11 years. In addition to Wakefield, Sheila had lived in several locations including Delaware, Portland, ME and most recently Wilmington.

Sheila was the sister of John J. McMahon and his wife Elaine of Cumberland, ME and the late Jane K. Beaver and Mary Ann Hanon.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Wednesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
