Shirley Collins

Shirley I . Collins , 85, of Wakefield died on Tuesday, October 27 at her home.

Born in Malden on August 30, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and M. Irene (Allen) Hill.

Mrs. Collins was raised in Malden and Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School. She was a retired Floor Manager for John Hancock Insurance. Mrs. Collins was an avid golfer at the Colonial Golf Club and was also an active bowler.

Mrs. Collins was the wife of the late Laurence D. Collins , Sr. She was the mother of Laurence D. Collins , Jr. and his wife Anne of Wakefield and Laureen A. Ingalls and her husband William of Woburn. She was also the grandmother of Sarah and Emily. Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her sister Audrey E. Hill.

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
