Sophie Hitron

Sophie T . Hitron , 92, of Wakefield died on Monday, July 30 at the Wingate at Reading Nursing Center.

Born in Cambridge on April 13, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Walter and Stefanie (Rybinsky) Szatawski.

Mrs. Hitron was a graduate of Cambridge Latin High School, Class of 1937. She had been a Wakefield resident for the past 57 years. Mrs. Hitron was a retired Inspector for the Polaroid Corp in Cambridge and had worked for Middlesex Human Service in Wakefield as a receptionist. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield and the Wakefield Senior Citizens Drop in Center.

Mrs. Hitron was the wife of the late Feliks S. Hitron . She is survived by her daughter Phyllis Senier and her husband Jack of Reading, her two sons; John Hitron of Florida and Thomas Hitron and his wife Rhonda of Nashua, New Hampshire and her two sisters; Alice Aufiero of Winchester and Janet Scott of Colorado. Mrs. Hitron is also survived by her 6 granddaughters. She was predeceased by her two brothers Josef and Henry Szatawski.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boston Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave, Boston, MA 02115.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
