Spero Pappas, 88, a life long Wakefield resident died peacefully on Saturday, April 7 at the Woburn Nursing Center.
Born in Wakefield on August 25, 1923, he was the son of the late Peter and Demetra (Jais) Pappas and was predeceased by his twin sister Anastasia P. Kulacz.
Mr. Pappas was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1941and had attended several colleges and had received his Doctorate in Psychology from Boston University. He was a member of Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Woburn and had sung in the church choir. He was a principal in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut. Mr. Pappas was a member of the Connecticut Teachers Association and had retired form the Berlin Public Schools as a Psychologist. Spero was devoted in helping others with his guidance, comfort and reassurance. He was an avid reader as well as a hypnotherapist and handwriting analyst. Spero was a roll model not only as an Uncle and as a friend but as a person of intergrity, compassion and kindness.
He is survived his devoted and loving friend Mary Ethel Downey of Wakefield, his devoted friends; Norma Smith, John Ricci and George Valliant both of Wakefield, his two nieces; Deborah J. Kulacz of Maine and Pamela M. Trojanowski of New York, his great niece Kim Moorman and great nephew Richard Trojanowski. Mr. Pappas is also survived by his great great nieces and his great great nephew.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield on
Tuesday, April 17th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
