Stavros Alexander, 87, of Lynnfield died on Tuesday, July 21 at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Peabody surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Haverhill on June 16, 1928, he was the son of the late James and Fotene (Koutrou) Alexander.
Mr. Alexander had been a Lynnfield resident since 1955. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1947. Mr. Alexander was a retired plant manager for Samtan Engineering in Malden. He had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Alexander was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and was a craftsman who could build, fix or repair anything.
He is survived by his wife Theodora (Gekas) Alexander, his son James S. Alexander and his wife Nancy of Lynnfield, his daughter Denise Coulombe and her husband Steven of Nashua, NH and his three grandchildren; Steven J. Alexander, Joanna K. Alexander and Stephanie L. Coulombe. He is also survived by by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Alexander was predeceased by his four sisters; Demetra Bluestein, Esmene Gonios, Alkmene Alexander and Julia Banos.
His Funeral service will be held in the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 S. Common St., in Lynn on Friday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Thursday from 5-8pm. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn.
