Stephen A. Tewksbury, 65, of Wakefield, formerly of Melrose, and North Reading, died on Tuesday, December 7 at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester after a 43 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born in Melrose on December 4, 1947 he was the son of the late Robert and Marjorie (Heath) Tewksbury.
Stephen was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1965. During the Vietnam Era he served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Forrestal. He was a Special Service Technician for the former New England Telephone Company and other communication companies before retiring from Verizon.
Stephen was the husband of Denise L. (Howland) Tewksbury. He was the brother of Ann Brussard and her husband David of Boston, son-in-law of Lilian Howland of Lynnfield and brother-in-law of David Howland and his wife Virginia of Danvers.
A Funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
