Susan Mele

Susan A. Mele, age 64, of Salem, New Hampshire, formerly of Wakefield, died Saturday, September 4, 2021.

Born in Melrose on September 26, 1956, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Rita M. (Dumont) Barry.

Susan was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1975. She had worked at Stop and Shop of Stoneham for a number of years. Susan loved gardening and most especially loved flowers. She was a devoted mother, wife, and friend.

She was the beloved wife of John A. Mele. She was the loving mother of Gabrielle M. Mele and her fiancé Venkat Mathiyazhagan and Joshua A. Mele. She was the cherished sister of Louise Sacco, Linda Barry, Carolyn Renaud, Donald Barry, and Kevin Barry.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Wednesday, September 22 at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
