Sylvia Healey

Sylvia A. Healey of Wakefield, age 77 passed peacefully Saturday February 20 of Alzheimer's disease at the Lahey Clinic, surrounded by her family. Born in Melrose on February 18, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Anthony & Lorettta (Mazzoli) Scandura. Mrs. Healey was raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School Class of 1950 and later from the Mt. Auburn Hospital School of Nursing in Cambridge. She had a long career as a nurse in the Maternity unit of the Winchester Hospital. She retired in 1995.

Mrs. Healey was the wife of William D. Healey, Jr. She was the mother of William D. Healey, III and his wife Patricia and Cynthia A. Healey all of Wakefield, Kathryn B. O'Maley and her husband Kevin of Gloucester, David J. Healey and wife Marie of Needham and John P. Healey and his wife Kerin of Westwood. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christine, William, IV, Allison, Shannon and Benjamin. She was pre-decesed by her sister Mary McGrath.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Wednesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10:00. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 4-8pm.
