Thelma E. (Elliott) Sparks, 80, of Wakefield and York Beach, ME passed gently at home on February 4, with her devoted daughters by her side.
Born in Everett, October 16, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Everett Chief of Police, Bradford Elliott and wife Gladys (McLean) Elliott.
Thelma was a graduate of Everett high School Class of 1950. She loved anything that was chocolate, enjoyed crossword puzzles and especially loved entertaining and spending time with her treasured family and friends.
Thelma was the beloved wife of the late Selby "Charlie" Sparks with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. She was the much-loved mother of Linda Sparks of Stoneham, formerly of Billerica, Stephen Sparks of Peabody, and Lisa Ventura and her husband Joseph of Wakefield. Thelma was the cherished Grammy of Melissa (Sparks) Kapeckas and her husband Mark of Marlborough and Justin Berry and Christine Ventura of Wakefield. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Janet Platania, her best friend Carolyn Snow and many loving relatives and friends. Thelma was the sister of the late Edna and Brad Elliott.
The funeral service will be held at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 5 Bryant St., Wakefield on Friday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
