Theodore Assini

Theodore "Teddy" Assini , 85 of Wakefield, formerly of East Boston died Tuesday July 11, at the Winchester Hospital.

Born in San Marco Deicavoti, Italy on August 23, 1926 he was the son of the late Giovanni and Maria (Tremonte) Assini .

Teddy was raised and educated in Italy. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge #242 in East Boston. Teddy worked for several Shoe Companies in the Boston area, he also was the proprietor of Teddy's Shoe Repair in East Boston.

Teddy was the beloved husband of Rosa (Discepolo) Assini . He was the loving father of John Assini and wife Zita of Wakefield, Renato Assini and wife Anna of Reading, and Gina Manganiello and husband Victor of No. Reading. Grandfather of Dominic, Marc, John, Nicolas, Joseph, Anthony, and Gia. Great grandfather of Jack and Roman. Teddy was preceded in death by his brother Dominico Assini .

The funeral will be held from the McDonald funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday 4-8 p.m.
