Theresa Akerberg

Theresa M. Akerberg, age 81, of Wakefield died Thursday, February 15 at her residence.

Born in Somerville on January 28, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine (Settipane) Spinale.

Terry was raised and educated in Somerville. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1969. She is retired from the Town Clerks office in Wakefield. Terry was a member of St. Joseph Parish and the Holy Name Society. She enjoyed taking trips to the casinos: Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and The Beacon in New Hampshire. Above all, she enjoyed spending her spare time with her grandchildren.

She was the beloved wife of Carl E. Akerberg. She was the loving mother of William E. Akerberg and fiancée Eileen Gallella and her son Matthew all of Wakefield, and Richard K. Akerberg of Tewksbury. She was the sister of the late Joseph and Domenic Spinale. She was the beloved grandmother of Nicholas and Gianna of Stoneham.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
