Collings
was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School in 1964 and later attended Newbury Junior College. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He had been employed with the M.B.T.A. and was a member of Local #589, Boston Sand & Gravel Company, Teamsters, Local #379 and had also worked for Tufts University in Medford and was a member S.E.I.U. Mr.Collings was a member of the Wakefield Council #104 Knights of Columbus and was also a member of its Fourth Degree and the Wakefield Lodge of Elks #1276.
A
veteran, he served with the U.S. Navy during Viet Nam.

was the beloved husband of Linda J. (Houghton)

. He was the loving father of Devin T.
Collings
, Whitney Leigh
Collings
and the late Nancy
A
.Collings. He was also the brother of the late Mary Agnes Conley.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Friday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church corner of Grove & Salem Sts. Lynnfield at 10:00.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 3-8pm. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
