Thomas E. Brennan, 72, of Reading died on Friday, March 30 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Thomas was born in Winthrop, MA on September 29, 1945 and was the son of the late Charles F. and Eleanor K. (McGuiness) Brennan.
Thomas was raised in Winthrop and attended Dominic Savio High School and later graduated from Winthrop High School. He served in the U.S Air Force Reserve and had been Reading resident since 1973. He retired from the U.S Postal Service after 45 years. He was also a long time member of the Winthrop Yacht Club, an avid Patriots fan and Patriots season ticket holder since 1969. Thomas also enjoyed food, beer, music, and Boston Sports.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Donna M. (Smith) Brennan with whom he spent 47 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Justin M. Brennan and his wife Jessica of Salem, Sean T. Brennan and his wife Michelle of Reading. He was the brother of Jean Hanlon and her husband Edward of Wilmington, and the late Robert Brennan and his surviving wife Ann. He was the devoted "Papa" of Jake & Lucy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends.
His Funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Thursday at 9:30 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St, Reading at 10:30. Interment, Wood End Cemetery. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home Wednesday 4-8pm.
