Thomas William Cooke , 90, of Salem, NH formerly of Lynnfield, MA died Tuesday, September 27 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH.
Born on February 13, 1926 he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Helen A. (Mietzner) Cooke .
Mr. Cooke was raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1944. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served in both WWII and Korea. He later went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Suffolk University and his Master's Degree in Counseling from Boston University. Mr. Cooke had first gone to work for the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services before joining the Melrose Public School System as a Counselor, where he remained until his retirement. He loved to golf and especially enjoyed playing in North Carolina where he once lived. He had also played many courses in the British Isles. He loved to travel and enjoyed dining at various restaurants with his wife.
He was the beloved husband of Carol M. (Roberts) Cooke , with whom he spent 43 years of marriage. He was the brother of Betty Moran and her late husband Bill of Windham, NH, Paul Cooke and his wife Annette of Salem, NH and the late Robert and John "Jack" Cooke . He is also survived by many other relatives and friends who were dear to his heart.
His Funeral service in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 12pm. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7pm. Interment will be private.
