Thomas Desmond

Thomas C. Desmond of Stoneham, formerly of Revere, died Monday July 7 at his home following a long period of failing health. He was 76 years of age.

Born in Chelsea on December 25, 1931, he was the son of the late William F. & Julia (Murphy) Desmond. Mr. Desmond was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception High School of Revere and later from Boston College. He enjoyed a long career in the Semi-Conductor Industry.

Mr. Desmond was the beloved husband of Ann M. (Reardon). He was the adored father of Maureen of Wakefield, Carol Rummel and her husband Cmdr. Scott Rummel, USN (Ret.) of Chelmsford, Elaine Kanchuga and her husband Steven of Exeter, NH, David Desmond and his wife Michelle of Stoneham, and Jane McLaughlin and her husband Kevin of Woburn. He was the dear brother of Robert J. of Louisville, KY, Harriet Dubuque of Malden and the late Christopher E. Desmond and Rev. William F. Desmond, M.M. He was the cherished grandfather of Gavin Frey, Julia and Sarah Rummel, Leslie and Kyle Kanchuga, David Jr., Jennifer and Steven Desmond, Kevin, Jr., Alyssa and Michael McLaughlin.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday at 8:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 9:00 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
