Thomas McKenna

Thomas H. McKenna of Wakefield, MA, 58, passed away suddenly and tragically, on December 6, 2017, as the result of a car accident. Beloved husband of Lisa J. (Dowley). Adored brother of Susan and Thomas Scott of Cambridge, Nancy and Raymond Thompson of Wakefield, and Jean and Kent Smith of Germantown, MD. Much- loved brother-in-law of Craig and Melissa Dowley of Franklin, and Michelle Dowley of Medway and the late Jason Dowley. Cherished and best uncle of Kristen Scott Lewis and her partner Steven Tashjian, Robin and Josalin Scott, and Kevin and Karina Scott; Kimberly and Zack Showman, Michael Gotzens, and Erin Gotzens; Sam, Jack and Katie Dowley and Zoe Dowley. Great- uncle of Savannah and Sadie Showman, Jaylen Hackey, Cameron Lewis, Keegan Scott, and Eva Scott. Tom was a genuinely funny, honest, intelligent, and caring husband, dad, brother and friend. He was always there for everyone. He never missed any of his sons' games and found great joy and took such pride in their many sports accomplishments. He loved his family and friends deeply and they loved him just as much. Tom will always be remembered for his easy-going and humble personality, his wicked sense of humor, his smart, funny commentaries and strong opinions, and his deep caring and concern for his loved ones. He enjoyed an eclectic collection of movies (from The Shining and A Clockwork Orange to Toy Story 2 and The Wizard of Oz!) and music (especially Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Led Zeppelin and The Cure) and had his own, unique way of how things should be done. He worked hard and would never think of calling in sick. He took care of himself and made time to work out at the gym everyday. Tom was a VERY special guy who was taken from us suddenly and tragically and way too soon. We cannot believe that he is gone. We all loved him dearly and will miss him forever. He made everything fun. He made us happy. He was the best!
