Vincent Basile, Jr., 94, of Stoneham died on Wednesday, April 15 at the Life Care center in Stoneham.
Born in East Boston on November 22, 1920 he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Carmela (Panerese) Basile.
Mr. Basile was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1938. He retired in 1984 as a Postal Clerk for the East Boston Post Office. Mr. Basile had served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of the East Boston Knights of Columbus and the Revere ITAM club.
Mr. Basile was the husband of the late Mary G. (Dente) Basile. He is survived by his daughter Marilyn Mandosa of Stoneham, his four grandchildren; Kim Mance, Frank Mandosa, Danielle Mandosa- Gori and Holly Dauwer and his six great grandchildren; William, Zachary, Francesca, Keira, Tommy and Neveah. Mr. Basile was predeceased by his son Robert F. Basile.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Wednesday at 11:30am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield prior to the Mass on Wednesday from 10-11am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
