. DiDonato, 85, of Stoneham died on Sunday, July 27, at the East Point Nursing & Rehabilitation in Chelsea.
Born in Boston on March 31, 1923, he was the son of the late Joseph and Carmela (Caliendo) DiDonato.
Mr. DiDonato was a graduate of East Boston High School. He served in the US Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Mr. DiDonato had worked as an architectural designer for Gregstrom Corporation.
Mr. DiDonato was the beloved husband of the late Rose M. (Mancini) DiDonato and the loving father of Jane and her husband Thomas. He was the brother of Ralph DiDonato of Medford, Albert DiDonato of Florida, Lucy DiDonato and Camille D'Amico both of E. Boston and the late Louis and Phil DiDonato and Margaret Ferullo. He is also survived by his grandson, Michael J. Solazzo of Stoneham.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Friday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
