Violet Cerretani

Violet R. Cerretani , 88, of Melrose formerly of Wakefield died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, May 19 at the Arnold House in Stoneham.

Born in Wakefield on April 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Beatrice Melanson.

Mrs. Cerretani was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1944. She had been a long time Melrose resident.

Mrs. Cerretani was the wife of the late James V. Cerretani . She was the mother of Susan C. May and her husband Walter of Middleton, James V. Cerretani , Jr. and his wife Karen of Reading, Craig S. Cerretani and his wife Deborah of Marblehead, Steven E, Cerretani and his wife Cheryl of Derry, NH, Lynne M. Cerretani-Clarke and her husband Bruce of Reading, and Carol Ellis and her husband Larry of Wakefield. Mrs. Cerrtani was the sister of Priscilla Rose of Reading, Janice Bruce of Florida, Yvonne Melanson of Burlington, and the late Edward Melanson, James Melanson, Helen McNall, Virginia Riordon, Howard Melanson, and Jean Wixtead. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
