William P. Corrigan, age 74 of Wakefield, passed away on Thursday February 6 at the Riverbend Nursing facility of South Natick.
He was born in Everett, MA on May 21 1950 and was the son of the late Philip J. and Mary C. (McGilloway) Corrigan.
Billy was raised in Everett and was graduate of Everett High School. Billy started his career with the former New England Telephone Co. and ended up retiring as a foreman with Verizon in 1996. He was an avid lover of music, playing the guitar, and gardening. Billy was soft spoken and an extremely humble man. He was a very compassionate man who always helped others whether a family member, friend or stranger. He also had a strong work ethic that served him well throughout his life. Billy was deeply involved with his children as well as other children helping them learn and grow in life and sports.
He was the beloved husband of Teresa (McCarthy) Corrigan. He was the loving father of Sean Corrigan and his wife Brenda of Streetsboro, Ohio, Colleen Martin and her husband Thomas of Dracut, Beth Ann of Derry, NH , Meaghan Corrigan of Woburn and the late Paige Corrigan. He was the brother of Mary Cunio, Robert Corrigan, Joseph Corrigan, and the late James, Patricia, and John Corrigan. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren Julia, Lacie, Mila, and Harrison, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stonham on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
